We had lunch in Dubuque before going to the museum on Sunday. We went to the Village Inn, which was great. Its one of those places where you can have breakfast all day and they boast they have the best pies in America or something. Unfortunately we didn't save room to try them. Allie and I got breakfast for lunch, which was aweseome. They also had awesome coffee. I don't remember what Dada had, but it wasn't breakfast for lunch.
Allie actually slept about 45 minutes on the drive to Dubuque. So she was in rare form during this meal. The difference between a rested Allie and an unrested Allie is amazing.
At this restaurant though, they had high chairs there that hooked onto the table to save floor space. Allie liked it because she was closer to the action. Mama and Dada didn't like it so much because she was closer to the action... we had to make sure nothing was in her reach! I also didn't like it so much because she's too big for that kind of high chair. She could reach the booth seat underneath, so she kept putting her foot down and sliding the high chair out from the table. I was really afraid she was going to fall. Lesson learned: If we go to a restaurant with these kind of high chairs again, I now know that we might be better off trying a booster seat. It might be time for a booster seat anyway.
