Growing bigger every day

At 6 months old, Allie now weighs 18 pounds, 7 ounces and its 26 inches tall. The works out to the 85th percentile for weight and the 50th for height. I can't believe we carry around a 18-pounder every day! She certainly doesn't feel heavy... at least not that heavy. I guess I'm just getting used to toting her around!

She just keeps growing. I guess she didn't get the memo that I want her to stay small forever.

Allie is growing bigger every day. Our check-up yesterday was spent discussing food. Its time to get coordinated enough to feed Allie real food! She's been eating rice cereal for about a month now, but its getting to time to expand her diet. (On a side note, I promise to post a video this weekend of the cereal debut!) We chose sweet potatoes as her second solid, to be started at a yet-to-be-determined date. It will be determined by whenever mommy and daddy get their act together!

We also have plans to introduce the cup. So many new things are going on in Allie's young life! We're working on getting solid foods going, she's on the cusp of really being mobile, and within the next month or so she'll figure out that mommy and daddy don't disappear when they leave the room. Maybe our favorite thing of all though is that we get a 6-month break on the shots. No more immunizations until Allie's a year old!
